Podcasting for Screencasters – Issue 1

– Episode  1:

Audello Podcasting System Ships!

Josh Bartlett and company have released the Audello Podcasting System to existing Easy Video Suite / Player customers. The product will be available to everyone starting Tuesday, October 28th at 9 AM Eastern:

If you haven’t signed up for the launch previews yet, DO! Josh does a beautiful job of explaining the benefits and opportunities of podcasting:

My job is to explore how to make those benefits REAL. In the real world. In my own business and to share with you what I’m doing and how I do it.

MY AUDELLO BONUS: In fact, I’ll be announcing my bonus for purchasing Audello through my link in the next issue. And let’s just say it will have a very “real-world” focus! 😉

Sound good?

Let’s get started!

My Podcasting Strategy & Vision

First, I’m going to say that while the content in the first few issues of this newsletter will likely focus on Audello because I like it and think it’s a great platform…

Audello is NOT the definitive guide on how to do podcasting!

It is a system for making podcasting distribution, configuration, embedding, analytics, etc. EASY but there is a LOT of great information out there.

So…where will I find the skinny on how to create great podcasts to put into my Audello system?

Easy! From…the…Podcasting PROS. Trust me when I say that there is some heavy-duty talent when it comes to podcasting. Podcasts have been around for years and the techniques and tactics of making them has become and art and a science.

In fact, podcasting is such a key strategic direction for me that I’ve partnered up with one of those pros, Fred Castaneda, to be my mentor. And we will both be providing awesome content, tutorials, tips, tricks, and resources on our joint venture site:

And this is just the tip of the iceberg. Stay tuned for more news from Fred & me.

TIP #1: Growing Your Podcast Audience

I’m putting together lots of Resource Guides and material for this newsletter by leveraging (read that as: ripping off?) more of those podcasting pros I mentioned.

And here’s a good one:

The Podcasters Roundtable with Ray Ortega

Specifically, here is one tip from Roundtable discussion #30 that talks about growing your audience with great podcast content:

Interviews are awesome content for podcasts. But…they can be a bit tricky to pull off if you are inexperienced!

Here’s the tip:

“How to Do an Interview…WITHOUT the INTERVIEW”

Watch this Roundtable discussion starting at the 39:00 minute mark (click the graphic or link below to be taken right there):

This interesting content idea basically states:

Talk about influencers in your niche…and then…let them know you talked about them!

A podcaster named Steve Stewart talked about a top pro in his niche (podcasting): Award-winning podcaster John Lee Dumas (you might recognize him as one of the case studies in the Audello training!).

The result has become so famous that it’s actually called: The John Lee Dumas Effect

The original post for the John Lee Dumas Effect from Steve Stewart can be found HERE:

Step 1: Write or podcast about an influencer:

The John Lee Dumas Effect -2

Step 2: Get the attention and awesome “audience growing” effect of a response to your content!

Pretty sweet, eh?

Gee…maybe I should reach out to Ray Ortega and Steve Stewart let them know I am talking about them? Right? 😉

That’s it for Issue # 1 of this Podcasting for Screencasters Newsletter. Stay tuned for more as I post the results of my first tests and impressions of the Audello Podcasting System.

Oh! And my special Audello BONUS! 😉
